Being Proactive
Every adult artist you know, who works on Patreon, is more or less constantly afraid of the Patreon cops coming and shutting their page down. The site explicitly disallows pornography. There's no other way to put it. I can either attempt to grow a following on a site that does not want me there, or look for those that do, while carving out my own little space (18+).
Several people I respect have been talking about their success with SubscribeStar, and after some trepidation I set up my own page! Due to the recent influx of new accounts, they've implemented a manual verification process, so I'll have to wait a bit for it to be usable. Once/if it's approved, though, I'll start moving my Patreon posts over.
Taking Payments on My Store
Earlier this week I gathered a list of adult-friendly payment processors, and have been shopping my store around to them. Most of the companies I've contacted have turned me down, with one in particular citing Visa, Mastercard and bank compliance regulations, despite how vigorously Mastercard claims to allow "all lawful purchases".
I'm waiting on a response from one company, still, and another has offered an e-check solution which, better than nothing! People would have to input their bank information to buy games from my website, but that's better than people mailing me checks.
